Claire and Richard Rallison out side of Hedgerows Cattery

Richard and I (Claire) moved to Hedgerows in 2002 and always dreamed that one day we would open our own Cattery. This is our story.

We both share a passion for animals, and our current fluffy team of cats can often be found lazing about in our reception, welcoming new guests.

In 2009 I started caring for small animals when their families were away. This quickly became very popular and became known locally as Dolittle's Pet Hotel.

In 2013 when Richard completed his 30 years of Police Service, we decided to turn our dream into a reality and began our search to build the best Cattery we could. After looking at different styles and design materials, we wanted to build a modern, light and secure cattery which we could keep hygienically clean and fresh and would not deteriorate with use. We were lucky enough to find Steve & Pete from Peticular Pens, who shared the dream of making top-quality animal housing, and they began work on Hedgerows in May 2014.

In June 2014, we opened the doors of our ten pens to our first customers, and Hedgerows Cattery became a reality. As if that wasn’t enough for one year, our son Alfie came along in January 2015. With the Cattery becoming increasingly popular and a small baby to care for, we decided to stop small animal boarding to focus entirely on the Cattery.

The journey continued, and in 2016 we successfully applied to the local council to extend by another eleven pens, again built to the same high standards, by Peticular Pens.
