Meet the Team

Richard and me (Claire) moved to Hedgerows in 2002 and always had a dream that one day we would open our own Cattery. We both share a passion for animals and the current fluffy team of our seven cats can often be found lazing about in our reception welcoming the new guests.

Boris who is very friendly is Black and large.

Boots a slightly crazy fluffy Black & White boy who’s name is obvious when you see him.

Jessica the Cattery Cat, shes usually found somewhere around the Cattery welcoming the guests

Minnie who is the smallest of the gang but with the biggest and kindest heart.

Baloo a grey fluffy softy.

Lottie our delicate little cream lady.

And last but not least Jezz (Jeremy) who joined as as a guest and became part of the family.

In 2009 I started caring for small animals, when their families were away. This quickly became very popular and became known locally as Dolittles Pet Hotel.

In 2013 when Richard completed his 30 years Police Service we decided to turn our dream into a reality and began our search to build the best Cattery we could.

After looking at different styles and design materials we wanted to build a modern, light and secure cattery which we could keep hygenically clean and fresh and would not deteriorate with use.

We were lucky enough to find Steve & Pete from Peticular Pens, who shared the dream of making top quality animal housing, and they began work on Hedgerows in May 2014.

In June 2014 we opened the doors of our 10 pens to our first customers and Hedgerows Cattery became a reality.

As if that wasn’t enough for one year, along came our son Alfie in January 2015. With the Cattery becoming increasingly popular, and a small baby to care for we decided to stop the small animal boarding to focus entirely on the Cattery.

The journey continued and in 2016 we applied to the local council to extend by another 11 pens, again built to the same high standards, by Peticular Pens.
